(LCSW #2012028655)

How I do this Work

Grounded in a somatic orientation, I take a holistic approach using evidence-based processes, most frequently using Emotion-Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Humanistic Psychology.

Why I do this Work

I believe in the inherent worth of every human being, that life is hard, and that no one can do this alone. I find meaning in helping people work through struggles and know that one person’s healing can have a positive impact on those around them too!

My Identities

I hold some identities which afford me certain privileges, and others which do not, within the societal structures of our world. I am a white, able-bodied, neurotypical, native English speaking, cisgender woman. I am committed to abolishing racist and oppressive systems. This includes but is not limited to understanding unconscious biases; how my privileges relate to power; how power structures can affect the therapeutic process; and actively & consciously challenging the white supremacist structures. I strive to learn from and correct my mistakes.

Professional Background

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School of Social Work, Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Butler University. I have been a member of Psychotherapy Saint Louis since 2013 and served as Secretary on the Board of Directors 2014-16. I was a member of the National Association of Social Workers from 2009 through 2021. I continue to expand and deepen my therapeutic skills and understanding of mental health through continuing education training, self study, and professional consultation & supervision. Highlights include Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I training as well as Financial Social Work. And, like many mental health professionals, I have transitioned into this role after having found fulfillment in other careers, and find that these diverse experiences & interests enhance my effectiveness as a therapist.
